Chromium™ Single Cell Solutions enable gene expression profiling of 100–10,000 cells per reaction. When sequencing costs or capacity are limiting, there is often a trade-off between sequencing a larger cell number (breadth) and sequencing a smaller cell number with more reads (depth). Here, we examine how sequencing depth and cell number influence the detection of major cell types in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs).
